The University of Prince Edward was founded in 1969. UPEI offers a wide range of programs and degrees to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. The university has six faculties: arts, science, business, education, nursing science and veterinary medicine. All first-year students have to choose one of three mandatory courses: writing, global studies or university studies. With 72 exchange agreements with universities in 29 countries, UPEI’s international exchange program can hold its own with those found at larger schools. In keeping with UPEI’s efforts to internationalize, international students hail from 70 countries.
