The University of Stirling is a public university founded by Royal charter in 1967. It is a "plate glass"university located in the Central Belt of Scotland, built within the walled Airthrey Castle estate close to Stirling. It is located in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands, and is often cited as among the most beautiful universities in the UK.

Like most Scottish universities, degree programs are designed to include four years of study with the intention of providing a broad and flexible education. It is among the top 50 universities in the world that are under 50 years old and offers undergraduate and Graduate programs. Popular academic programs include the liberal arts, computer science, natural science, nursing, sports studies, software engineering, management school and health science.
